With a four motor drive, our teams robot rolls on smooth school hall roads. Built with mecanum wheels, it overcame just about all the challenges we threw at it. Our Thunder Tech team members all contributed to these wondrous wheels, as each one of the wheels was built separately and given specific attention. There were a lot of problems, and we learned through a long list of trial and error – the mecanum wheels were quite the mess to take on – but in the end, our robot zooms through our Common’s like there’s no tomorrow. Being fairly large, 27 inches wide and 37.25 inches long, our robot is a force to be reckoned within the halls to oncoming pedestrians, as well as the soccer ball it plays with. Fortunately, with our addition of a Pneumatic swing kicker, Thunder Tech’s robot has nothing to fear. Our additional ball guards are an excellent addition towards our robots safety. Of course, what would a champion be without his shield?
